Caring for your linen

How Do I Care For My Linen

Linen is one of the world’s oldest and most cherished natural fibres — loved for its durability, breathability, and timeless texture. With proper care, your linen will soften with each wash and last for generations, becoming part of the memories made around your table.

Washing & Drying

DO:

  • Wash in lukewarm or cold water on a gentle cycle

  • Use a mild, natural detergent

  • Rinse thoroughly

  • Line dry when possible, or tumble dry on a low setting

  • To reduce ironing time, remove from the dryer while slightly damp and hang or lay flat to finish drying

  • Iron while damp using a moderate steam setting

DON’T:

  • Use bleach or fabric brighteners, which weaken natural fibres

  • Wash in hot water

  • Wash in hard water (if unavoidable, use a fabric softener)

  • Spin dry on a hot setting

  • Dry clean

  • Store in plastic or expose to direct sunlight for long periods

How To Store Your Linen

Linen is a natural fabric that responds to its environment, and how you store it can have a big impact on its longevity. To preserve the quality, colour, and softness of your linen:

  • Store in a cool, dry, and dark cupboard. Prolonged exposure to light — even indirect sunlight — can cause fading over time.

  • Avoid plastic storage containers or bags, which can trap moisture and lead to mildew. Use breathable cotton bags or simply fold and place on a shelf.

  • Ensure linen is completely clean and dry before storing to prevent discolouration or musty odours.

  • Fold along different lines each time you store to avoid permanent creasing in the fabric.

With thoughtful storage, your linen will stay beautiful between uses and age gracefully over time.

Caring for Hand-Painted Linen

Our hand-painted linen napery is made from pre-washed 100% French flax linen and individually painted using fabric-safe inks. These pieces are delicate and deserve special care.

Instructions:

  • Gently hand wash in cold water using a pH-neutral laundry liquid

  • Hang to dry in the shade

  • Iron only on the reverse side with a cool iron if needed

  • Do not tumble dry, bleach, or dry clean

Treat them with care, and they’ll remain vibrant and beautiful for years to come.

how we care

Linen is for life as are the memories we create when gathered together around a table. Our products have been made to stand the test of time, ready to be passed down just like Granny's recipes.

We're busting with pride when it comes to our products because we source supremely soft, environmentally friendly fabric made exclusively made from flax, a natural fibre known for its durability, lasting for centuries.

OEKO-TEX certified

This certification means that our fabric is tested to make sure no harmful substances are used before it’s sent to us. Our linen is carefully dyed free from harmful chemicals. We prioritise sustainable practices, safeguarding the ecosystem throughout the entire process. By the time our linen reaches your home, you can be confident that it has been produced with unwavering dedication to environmental preservation.

Authentically FRENCH

While the flax plant can be grown worldwide, we specifically source ours from Normandy, France. This region offers premium production due to its optimal climatic conditions that enable the cultivation of flax in a natural and ecologically responsible manner, without the need for pesticides or hazardous chemicals. A stamp of approval is sent with every shipment highlighting that our flax is authentically grown in France before being sent to be manufactured.

RESPOSNIBLY SEWN

Our linen is certified under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) which ensures that our products are manufactured under stringent standards for social criteria such as working conditions, pay, health and safety throughout the supply chain.

The SA8000 Standard is a document that is independently audited in relation to the protection of workers’ rights. By having this certificate, it means that the factory has upheld SA8000 compliance for three years beforehand and continues to do so with regular checks.
